Mood Board –

Here is my mood board, i was asked to make a mood board comprising of all my favourite websites and what they mean to me, i haven’t added that to the mood board as i feel that takes away from the whole aesthetic of a mood board and adding writing turns it into a mind map of sorts, so here’s my explanations for all the websites starting from the top to the bottom.

  1. https://www.britbox.co.uk/doctorwho – BritBox, BBC & ITV’s partnership in streaming’s attempts gave us a home for over 600 episodes of Doctor Who’s original 26 season run, and i love it! I spend days on end binging old favourites and discovering new ones with brand new telesnap recreations for old missing episodes, It’s a fun new way to bring life into the old show!
  2. https://www.doctorwho.tv/ – Usually the first to publish new information on the series and related matters, Doctor Who TV has a stunning website with facts and information on characters and episodes and it’s always a useful place to go for new announcements and the best pictures.
  3. https://www.bigfinish.com/ – Big Finish is by all means my favourite website, i spend hours each and every day scrolling through the wide range of audios they have on offer and listen to the many audios i have already bought, The world of Big Finish is so huge and amazing and i love every audio they release weather it be an 8th Doctor audio, The War Master, Torchwood… The list goes on, everything is amazing and i wouldn’t have Paul McGann’s 8th Doctor as my second favourite Doctor if it wasn’t for Big Finish breathing new life into the character.
  4. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006q2x0 – Okay, i’ll admit, this website isnt what it used to be, The official Doctor Who website is just a place where they dump clips for the new episodes that also get posted on YouTube and Twitter, But the Doctor Who website does and will always hold a special place in my heart for being so nostalgic, I always remember eagerly loading up the trailer maker and making an awesome trailer or playing some of the awesome games the website had. Although now sadly all removed from the website, the Doctor Who website is always a favourite of mine purely for nostalgia.
  5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/ Speaking of nostalgia, i will never forget the day i accidently clicked on the Classic Series website and found out there were 8 previous Doctors before Christopher Eccleston’s 9th Doctor! (Who i thought was the first) A whole 26 years of stories and doctors right there as if i had just opened a door to this whole new world, and my intrigue only got bigger, searching for clips of episodes, regenerations, anything to get me to learn more about this whole new world of Doctor Who
  6. This is just more nostalgia for me as it’s what the Doctor Who website looked like way back in the day before Jodie Whittaker’s 13th Doctor and when Paul McGann helmed the TARDIS as the 8th Doctor.
  7. https://thetimeladies.com/ – The Time Ladies, a blog all about Doctor Who, this is what i aspire my website to be like, It’s also a WordPress blog like this one where they talk and review Doctor Who! What better? They go over everything in such fun little blogs reviewing, analysing, chatting about Doctor Who that they really are gonna be such an inspiration for my blog.
  8. Finally https://merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/ – Basically where i go to everyday to see what new releases are announced / available. They provide the most accurate information in probably the quickest time available which really helps when something rare is announced like the season box sets then i know i can quickly pre-order and secure my copy before they all sell out. That is why i always use the merchandise guide to find out all the information i need.

Fonts –

While scrolling through Wix’s large archive of fonts only one really stood out to me. This one it’s called ”Oswald Medium & Roboto Bold”

This one doesn’t look cheap and tacky and reminds me of fonts used in movies and TV Shows which fits in with the theme of my website because its going to be a blog for TV Shows and films. Its a very clear simple font nothing fancy but it stands out and is definitely a favorite of mine. This will be the font i will use after much consideration.

Colour Scheme –

These are some colour palettes i found on https://www.colourlovers.com/ I picked ones i really liked that had colours that popped and went together, i may end up using one of these

Logo –

If i decide to make a logo then i would use the one that i have for my YouTube Channel, i want to make it associated with my channel so the website will have a connection. So by using this logo it just cements the fact they are connected.

URL’s and other related things. –

I want to make a website thats got a really simple URL so if connected to my YouTube channel the URL would be something like http://www.whofigureadventures.com or .co.uk It’s simple and does the job

I won’t need any kind of filters or anything for comments because i wont be having any comments. That’s what the channel is for so i simply will just have my website for reviews and blogs. Plain and simple, no comments will be added.

Copyright –

I won’t really have an issue with copyright because i made the channel and the associated website and any reviews or blogs wont be affected because as i have a copyright disclaimer under every one of my videos, everything posted will come under ‘fair use’ and the “Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use.”

In summary this means that whatever i post will be under fair use and within copyright laws.
